Your sorrow will turn into joy (Sermon from 2010)
Our lives will be full of struggles, sorrow and pain. It is the result of sin in this world. However, we have hope and comfort as we hear in this sermon’s Gospel lesson from John 16:
19 Jesus knew that they wanted to ask him, so he said to them, “Is this what you are asking yourselves, what I meant by saying, ‘A little while and you will not see me, and again a little while and you will see me’? 20 Truly, truly, I say to you, you will weep and lament, but the world will rejoice. You will be sorrowful, but your sorrow will turn into joy.
Christ, who died and suffered for us, will not let us perish in this struggle. He is our Good Shepherd! Even though the opposition is overwhelming, we have the words of the Resurrection to comfort us. Christ is always with us and we can rejoice knowing we are the children of God.
