The New Birth – Trinity Sunday
Trinity Sunday is when we confess a mystery. The human mind is unable to fathom the depths of God, beyond that we must just believe that it is so. When faced with another of our Christian mysteries, Nicodemus, even though he was a respected and educated man, had a difficult time accepting that which he could not understand. This is where faith, born of the water and the Spirit, must take over.
Today’s sermon text is from John 3,
Now there was a man of the Pharisees named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews. 2This man came to Jesus by night and said to him, “Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher come from God, for no one can do these signs that you do unless God is with him.” 3Jesus answered him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God.” 4Nicodemus said to him, “How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother’s womb and be born?” 5Jesus answered, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God.

Church activity is as follows. We are sending the bulletin to everyone. We are urging everyone to use the bulletin as a devotional individually and/or as a household by reading the lessons, singing or reading the hymns, praying the Collect (insert) etc. This is Intended to be as edifying as possible given the circumstances and to keep our hearts and minds on the “same page” so to speak.

Reopening. New guidelines have been issued. Please find them here.
Prayer requests. Bring your prayer requests to Pastor Jenson, Deacon Poe, or Loyd Harris (bulletin typist). They will printed in the bulletin and prayed in the Sunday service. The deadline is Tuesday for mailing on Wednesday. Remember if you are bringing a prayer request on behalf of another person their permission must be obtained.
Donations: Unfortunately the expenses go on. If you wish to make a donation please mail them to the St. James Post office box as that is a secure location.
Prayer during a pandemic.
Almighty God, heavenly Father, give us grace to trust You during this time of illness and distress. In mercy put an end to the pandemic that afflicts us. Grant relief to those who suffer, and comfort all that mourn. Sustain all medical personnel in their labors, and cause Your people ever to serve You in righteousness and holiness; through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen
